Privacy

Yara Reads is a reading app for children. We keep as little as we can, we don't run ads, and we don't sell or share anything. This page says exactly what's kept and how to get rid of it.

Without an account

You don't need an account to read. Without one, the sounds you switch on and the chapters you finish are saved in your own browser and never reach us.

We do count anonymous reads: which story, which page, and when. There's no device ID, no name and no words in those counts. We also use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly web analytics, which doesn't use cookies and doesn't follow you around the web, to see roughly how many people visit and from where.

With an account

You sign in with Google, through our own sign-in page at login.finereli.com. We receive your Google account ID, email address and name. We never see your Google password.

So that it follows you between devices, we then keep:

Accounts are for parents. A child doesn't need one, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. The history above is about reading, and it hangs off the parent's account.

Speech

When a word is spoken, the single word is sent to Cloudflare's speech service to make the audio, and the audio is kept so it only needs making once. Nothing about you goes with it.

Agents

If you connect an agent (Claude, ChatGPT or another), it can read your sounds list and books and can add, change and delete books in your account. It can't see anything else. Agent connections use standard sign-in tokens, kept only as hashes, and you can disconnect any agent at any time in Grown-ups, under Agents.

Who else is involved

That's all. No advertising networks, no tracking cookies, no data brokers.

Your choices

Data is kept until you delete it. The anonymous read counts can't be tied to a person, so they stay.

Changes

If this changes in a way that matters, we'll say so on this page and update the date. Questions: eli@finereli.com.
